The only comprehensive commercial project located on the western shores of Lake Washington, Leschi Lakecenter had been the premier landmark marine entry point to and from eastern King County before the floating bridges were built across the lake. From the period beginning around 1900 until Leschi hosted ferries from the east side and public recreational facilities for the passengers as well as the people who maintained summer homes, and later the permanent residents of the area.
At the time the property was acquired the center had fallen into disrepair. Through a process of careful land-use and architectural planning the project was entirely redeveloped into several buildings totaling over 80,000 square feet, which includes four restaurants, first-class view office, retail stores and a 115 slip marina.
